THE HOVE NAP CHALLENGE 2008

THE COMPETITION WILL BE PLAYED OUT THROUGH 6 CONSECUTIVE SATURDAYS ...

Rd1 … Sat 12th July
Rd2 … Sat 19th July
Rd3 … Sat 26th July

QF … Sat 2nd August
SF … Sat 9th August

FINAL … Sat 16th August

3rd Place Play-Off … Sat 16th August
(losing Semi-Finalists)

DETAILS

• On the Tuesday preceding every round an open draw will be made in the downstairs main inside area which will pair contestants to go head to head on the following Saturday. I will post details of the draw here on the night that it is made.

• If your name is the first drawn in any pair, you will have Odd-Numbered races from which to choose your NAP. If your name is second drawn in any pair, you will have Even-Numbered races from which to choose your Nap.

• Please post on this forum (or PM to me) your NAP before 2.30pm on the Saturday in question. Otherwise, you may be deemed a non-arrival as I will post a review of the NAP Matches for the night’s racing shortly after.

• If a NAP selection is withdrawn as a non-runner, the selection will be replaced by the returned SP favourite (for joint/co-favs, the lowest trap number will apply) for that race.
If a NAP selection is in a voided race, the selection will be replaced by the returned SP favourite (for joint/co-favs, the lowest trap number will apply) for the following odd/even race … (or for the previous odd/even race, if NAP selection was made in Race 11 or Race 12)

• In the event of a drawn match, with both NAPS winning, the one with the largest Starting Price (SP) will be deemed the winner. A sudden death playoff will apply if both are the same SP!

• In the event of a drawn match, with both NAPS losing, the one with the largest Starting Price (SP) will be deemed the winner. A sudden death playoff will apply if both are the same SP!

• I will post results of the NAP Matches on that Saturday night using information from the Track Results Sheet or the BGRB site.

• All winners will progress to the next round.

• Entries are £10 per entry for up to 3 entries (£30) to try and win some cash or just to help the donation to the BGOA RGT. clapping.gif

Assuming all 64 slots are filled, 45% of the total entrance fee will go to BGOA RGT ... 55% will go to the prize fund. cool.gif

> FRIDAY MEETING
Posted by pilot - 07-4-08 18:06 - 1 comments
Went to the track today( long lunch hours) The crowd was very, very limited, saw about 40 people.
Atmosphere none. Tote didn't pay out on some races.and everyone looked bored stiff. sleepgo.gif

I suppose it was the first time and lets hope it improves.

One real praise was the Brunch served in the restaurant, really first class and very reasonable, there was even a vegitarian option. big_thumbup.gif

If Corals offered the Brunch as another option to the £15 special during the week I am sure the attendance would rise.

Before anyone asks 2 sausages, 3 rashers of bacon, fried egg, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, hash browns and a large bowl of chips.

So I got some enjoyment out of the trip.

ps The dogs all seemed to like the new racing day.

Pleased to say that we will be putting on ANOTHER graded stakes that will culminate in the finals being run on Olympic Final night which as most know is NOW my benefit night.

Thats 3 graded races that will be worth £1,000 to the winners plus a lovely trophy, picture etc.

I hope the locals get behind the night as its a test run for future events.

PS:Mind any restaraunt seats required you can contact myself 01289 386766 or 07810 444369

Also require some gifts for the raffle if anyone can come up with them.

> The future of Hove ?

Saw a rather worrying thread on another forum that the future of the stadium could be in doubt, with Ikea named as being interested in the site.
The additional bags meetings and investment in a new tote board would suggest otherwise so is it just rubbish or something to be concerned about ?
I'm not an owner but keen racegoer and thought this would be the best place to ask.
